Gonzalez has discovered a cometary trail on two plates obtained with the Maksutov astrograph at the Cerro El Roble station as follows: 1981 UT R. A. The object is diffuse, with condensation but without tail. (843) NICOLAIA This minor planet, lost since its discovery in 1916, was reobserved during 1981 May 28-June 9 at the European Southern Observatory by H.-E. Schuster. The position was some 75' from a prediction by L. D. Schmadel, Astronomisches Rechen-Institut. The following ephemeris is from an orbit fitted by Schmadel to the observations in 1916 and 1981. Further details will be given on the MPCs for Aug. 1. 1981 ET R. A. (1950) Decl. Delta r Mag. Subscribers who wish to make address changes, category changes, etc., are requested to inform us of said changes by Aug. 31. At that time a concerted effort will be made to try alleviate some of the problems affecting service outside North America (cf. IAUC 3536); the offer for direct, express, surcharged service still holds. 1981 July 22 (3617) Brian G. Marsden
