Scardia, Osservatorio Astronomico di Milano-Merate, write: "Two red spectrograms (dispersion 3.0 x 10**-6) taken of omicron And on Nov. 26 and 28 with the Merate Observatory's 1.37-m telescope show emission in the H-alpha wings. At the same time, the U, B and V luminosities underwent a notable decrease with respect to the level reached in 1980." OCCULTATION OF SAO 145972 BY (18) MELPOMENE D. Herald, Woden, near Canberra, reports the following observation of this occultation, observed with the 0.76-m reflector at Mt. Stromlo. Commencement: 1981 Aug. 7d12h14m44s.9 +/- 0s/1 UT; end: 7d12h15m04s.2 +/- 0s.2. No secondary events were detected (cf. IAUC 3315; Williamon 1980, A.J. 85, 174). 1981 VA The times of the Palomar observations on IAUC 3645 should be corrected by +0.00208 day.
