NOVA AQUILAE 1982
     L. Rosino, T. Iijima and S. Ortolani, Asago Astrophysical
Observatory, telex: "Spectroscopic observations of this object at
Asiago during the first half of March confirm its unusual character.
The emission spectrum shows diffuse Balmer lines (halfwidth ~ 2000
km/s) with strong central cores. H-beta and H-gamma are bordered shortward
by a hint of very broad P-Cyg absorption, giving a mean radial velocity
of ~ -2800 km/s. The other lines, all in emission, are due
to He I (from 706 to 447 nm), He II 469 nm, [O I] 630-636 nm, N III
(a broad blend at 464 nm) and perhaps some very weak [Fe II] lines.
The strongest emission lines are wide, with a structure similar to
that observed in the Balmer lines. The magnitude was estimated
visually as ~ 14 on Mar. 11, representing a drop of 7-8 mag since
the end of January. We suspect that the nova, which by Mar. 16 had
not yet developed a nebular spectrum, may be experiencing a deep
secondary minimum, from which it could recover during the next few
weeks; there is perhaps some similarity to DQ Her in 1935."

TIME ADJUSTMENT ON 1982 JUNE 30
The Bureau International de 1'Heure informs us that a positive
leap second will occur such that the sequence of UTC second markers
will be: 1982 June 30d23h59m59s, 30d23h59m60s, July 1d00h00m00s.
From 1981 July 1 to 1982 June 30 UTC-TAI = -20s; beginning 1982
July 1 UTC-TAI = -21s.
