SUPERNOVA IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
J. Maza, Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, telexes
that L. E. Gonzalez has discovered a supernova in a faint, anonymous
spiral galaxy at R. A. 22h56m.2, Decl. -40o53' (equinox. 1950.0).
The object is 7" east and 5" north of the galaxy's nucleus and on
May 30 was of photographic magnitude 18.
1982 HR
The following ephemeris continuation is from improved orbital
elements given on MPC 6952 (1982 June 6). The magnitudes have been
adjusted in light of recent observations.
