COMET IRAS (1983f)
     J. Davies, University of Leicester, communicates the
following additional observations obtained with the Infrared
Astronomical Satellite. The comet is fading.

             1983 UT R.A. (1950.0) Decl.
             May 23.018 9 15.71 -10 48.5
                  23.083 9 15.74 -10 47.3
                  23.155 9 15.77 -10 45.8

The following parabolic orbital elements have been derived by
the undersigned from the available semiaccurate positions. The
result is somewhat uncertain, but the ephemeris may help observers
locate the comet. Astrometric observations are desired.

SUPERNOVA IN NGC 3106
     E. P. Aksenov, Sternberg Astronomical Institute, cables that
Yu. V. Terebizh, Sternberg Crimean Station, reports the discovery
by Metlova of a supernova 11" east and 12" south of the nucleus of
NGC 3106. On Apr. 8.865 UT the photographic magnitude was 16.0.
