NOVA VULPECULAE 1984 No. 2
     Peter Collins, Cardiff, California, reports his discovery of a
nova at mv ~ 6.8 on Dec. 22.13 UT. Relay of the discovery by G. M.
Hurst in Europe prompted P. Wils, Niel, Belgium, to confirm the
object at mv ~ 6.5 on Dec. 22.79. Two semi-accurate positions have
been provided via Collins: R.A. = 20h24m40s3, Decl. = +27deg40'45", equinox
1950.0, +/- 2" (A. Longmore, U.K. Infrared Telescope, Mauna Kea); and
R.A. = 20h24m43s0, Decl. = +27deg41'12", equinox 1950.0, +/- 10" (J. Huchra,
1.5-m reflector, Whipple Observatory). Subsequent visual magnitude
estimates: Dec. 23.094, 5.6 (Collins); 23.108, 6.1 (C. S. Morris,
Whitaker Peak, CA); 23.928, 5.8 (D. W. E. Green, Cambridge, MA);
24.023, 5.7 (P. Dombrowski, Glastonbury, CT, via J. Mattei, AAVSO).

NOVA AQUILAE 1984
     H. Kosai, Tokyo Astronomical Observatory, communicates the
following precise position, measured from an objective-prism plate
taken by T. Soyano with the 1.05-m Kiso Schmidt on Dec. 9.37 UT: R.A.
= 19h14m05s82, Decl. = +3deg37'55"4 (equinox 1950.0); emission lines are
present. Visual magnitude estimates: Dec. 13.37, 12.7; 14.39, 12.6.

NOVA VULPECULAE 1984 No. 1
     Visual magnitude estimates: Nov. 17.02 UT, 9.7 (J. DeYoung,
Alexandria, VA); 17.7, 9.3 (M. Verdenet, Bourbon-Lancy, France);
17.99, 9.6 (DeYoung); 20.8, 9.3 (Verdenet); 22.96, 9.7 (DeYoung);
23.97, 9.6 (DeYoung); 24.8, 9.2 (Verdenet); 24.96, 9.6 (DeYoung);
26.99, 9.2 (DeYoung); 28.00, 8.9 (J. E. Bortle, Stormville, NY);
29.01, 9.2 (P. Maley, Houston, TX); 30.01, 9.4 (Maley); Dec. 3.00,
9.8 (Bortle); 3.98, 9.8 (Bortle); 8.08, 9.7 (C. Womack, Lewisville,
TX); 10.10, 9.7 (Collins); 11.13, 9.7 (Womack); 14.10, 9.7 (Womack).

COMET LEVY-RUDENKO (1984t)
     Total visual magnitude estimates: Dec. 4.97 UT, 8.4 (Green,
Harvard College Observatory, 0.23-m refractor); 17.73, 8.3 (J.-C.
Merlin, Pic du Midi, 0.07-m reflector); 17.97, 8.3 (Bortle, 0.32-m
reflector); 18.09, 8.2 (C. Spratt, Victoria, BC, 0.20-m reflector);
23.08, 8.2 (Morris, 20 x 80 binoculars).
