PERIODIC COMET HALLEY (1982i)
D. K. Yeomans, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, provides IHW Astrometry
Network orbit number 33, based on 4036 observations from 1835
to 1985 Dec. 17 (rms residual 1"706), with nongravitational
parameters A1 = +0.09 and A2 = +0.0155:

G. Emerson, Boulder, CO, reports that a photograph taken with
his 0.30-m f/1.8 Schmidt telescope on Dec. 30.08 UT shows a dust
tail and a gas tail, each > 2 deg long, separating 0.5 deg from the head.

(J. E. Bortle, Stormville, NY, 10x50 binoculars); 24.94, 4.5 (D. W.
E. Green, Lindenhurst, NY, 20x80 binoculars); 26.00, 4.7 (Bortle);

COMET HARTLEY-GOOD (1985l)
Bortle also reports his total visual magnitude estimates of
this comet with 20x80 binoculars: Dec. 19.44 UT, 7.8; 20.45, 7.9.
