McNaught, Siding Spring Observatory, provides the following precise position of the nova in the LMC (cf. IAUC 4568) from an exposure with the Uppsala Southern Schmidt telescope (rms 0".7): R.A. = 5h36m01.92, Decl. = -70 23'15.2 (equinox 1950.0). The nova lies 0'.8 east and 2'.2 south of HV 12328, and 5'.0 west and 0'.4 north of HV 12330. Visual magnitude estimates: Mar. 22.79 UT, 11.9: (McNaught); 23.43, 11.2 (B. Tregaskis, Mt. Eliza, Victoria; not Elisa, as given on IAUC 4568).
