Wooden, NASA Ames Research Center; P. Pinto and D. Rank, Lick Observatory; and M. Cohen, University of California, Berkeley, report: "Infrared spectra (range 1.7-12.6 microns, resolving powers 60-200) were obtained using the Kuiper Airborne Observatory on Apr. 9, 11 and 14. Numerous emission lines were measured including Co II 10.5 microns, Ni II 6.6 microns, Ar II 6.98 microns, Ni I 11.3 microns, Ni I* (not a resonance line) 3.12 microns, Pa alpha, Br alpha, beta, gamma, delta and Pf alpha, beta, gamma and delta. Since 1987 Nov. 12 the continuum has dropped by a factor of four or more, and the Co II line has dropped by a factor of nearly two relative to the Ni II line. The CO and SiO fundamentals were also observed. Line profiles of Ni II and Ar II show that these ions are expanding radially from the core with an average velocity near 1500 km/s. In addition, both profiles show a weak (10 percent of the line) component displaced about 3000 km/s to the red of the central line peaks. The centroid of the main peak of the Ar II emission line is shifted 650 km/s to the red from the Ar II emission line in the galactic H II region G333.6." Corrigendum.
