V. Filippenko, University of California at Berkeley, reports that R. J. Weymann, S. L. Morris, and S. F. Anderson (Mt. Wilson and Las Campanas Observatories) obtained CCD spectra of SN 1988N (cf. IAUC 4601, 4630) on May 14 UT with the 5-m Hale reflector at Palomar Observatory. The spectra, which cover the range 350-940 nm, reveal that SN 1988N was probably of type Ia near maximum brightness. The redshift of the host galaxy is roughly 0.08. SUPERNOVA 1987A IN THE LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD J. Reynolds, Mt. Stromlo Observatory; D. Campbell-Wilson, Molonglo Observatory, Canberra; S. Gulkis, Jet Propulsion Laboratory; and D. Jauncey, CSIRO Radiophysics, Sydney, write: "Upper limits to the radio emission from SN 1987A have been determined at three frequencies, using the NASA Interferometer at Tidbinbilla (Oct. 15), and the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope, Canberra (Oct. 7). On Oct. 15, the upper limits at 8420 MHz and 2290 MHz were 4.5 and 33 mJy, respectively; on Oct. 7, the upper limit at 843 MHz was about 2 mJy. The upper limits are 5-sigma values in each case." RW URSAE MINORIS S. Howell, Planetary Science Institute, writes: "This star was considered a possible supernova by Kurkarkin (1962, IBVS 18) due to its invisibility on plates (including the POSS) taken both before and after outburst in 1956 (V about 5). CCD photometric observations taken by S. B. Howell and T. J. Kreidl at Lowell Observatory on Oct. 17 and 18 UT show that the star is still present with a V mag of about 21-21.5. It is therefore likely that RW UMi is a nova with a very large outburst amplitude (about 15 mag). Improved coordinates for this star are R.A. = 16h49m59s, Decl. = +77 06'47" (equinox 1950.0). Details and period information will be published elsewhere." V482 CYGNI Visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 4617): July 4.1 UT, 13.2 (J. E. Bortle, Stormville, NY); 19.89, 13.6 (A. Boattini, Florence, Italy); Aug. 4.96, 14.2 (E. Schweitzer, Strasbourg, France); 23.91, 13.9 (M. Verdenet, Bourbon-Lancy, France); Sept. 8.88, 13.8 (Verdenet); 19.02, 14.0: (A.
