MV LYRAE
     L. Rosino, Asiago Astrophysical Observatory, reports that this
cataclysmic variable is undergoing a period of remarkable activity and
provides photometry using the Andronov-Shugarov comparison sequence:
July 7.0 UT, B = 14.3; Aug. 1.9, B = 13.65; 2.9, V = 14.25; 4.0, B =
14.58, V = 15.42; 7.0, B = 14.37, V = 14.54; 8.0, V = 15.25.

VY AQUARII
     On Aug. 12 D. Buczynski, The Astronomer, reported independent
detections by K. Medway, Southampton, England, and by P. Schmeer,
Bischmisheim, West Germany, of another outburst of this object.
Word was subsequently received of a earlier, apparently independent,
detection by H. Narumi, Ehime, Japan. Visual magnitude estimates:
July 30.94 UT, [14.3 (A. Boattini, Monte Autore, Italy); Aug. 11.71,
[15.3 (R. H. McNaught, Coonabarabran, N.S.W.); 12.64, 11.2 (Narumi);
12.90, 11.2 (Medway); 12.91, 11.1 (Schmeer); 13.40, 11.6 (McNaught);
13.81, 11.8 (McNaught); 14.06, 12.3 (Schmeer); 14.38, 12.5 (McNaught).

R CORONAE BOREALIS
     Visual magnitudes: Aug. 8.95 UT, 7.0 (J. D. Shanklin, Cambridge,
England); 10.27, 7.0 (C. Spratt, Victoria, BC); 12.5, 7.1 (Narumi).
