PERIODIC COMET WILD 2 (1989t)
     J. Gibson, OAO Corporation and Jet Propulsion Laboratory,
reports his recovery of this comet with the Palomar 1.5-m reflector
(+ CCD + Gunn r filter). The best frames show a faint 20" tail
in p.a. about 260 deg; the stellar nucleus is near the east end of
an elongated coma. The observations indicate a correction of
Delta(T) = +0.02 day to the orbit on MPC 12125:

     1989 UT R.A. (1950) Decl. m1
     Sept.10.43605 3 52 40.03 +16 29 08.1
          10.44206 3 52 40.09 +16 29 08.0
          10.46663 3 52 40.33 +16 29 07.5 19.2
          10.47310 3 52 40.41 +16 29 07.3
          11.46262 3 52 50.88 +16 28 41.7
          11.47829 3 52 51.02 +16 28 41.0
          11.49580 3 52 51.19 +16 28 40.7

The above observations confirm the following observations
made by K. J. Meech at Mauna Kea with the 2.2-m telescope (+ GEC
CCD + Mould R filter), when the comet was stellar in appearance:

     1988 UT R.A. (1950) Decl. m2
     Sept. 9.50289 1 31 25.78 + 5 53 41.8 23
           9.51534 1 31 25.29 + 5 53 40.2
           9.53027 1 31 24.94 + 5 53 37.2
