Mueller reports her discovery of a supernova in an anonymous galaxy located at R.A. = 12h13m48s.2, Decl. = +12 48'18" (equinox 1950.0). The supernova (mag about 18) is 7" west and 10" north of the galaxy nucleus, and was found on a blue plate taken May 13 UT with the 1.2-m Oschin Telescope in the course of the Second Palomar Sky Survey. A spectrum obtained by M. Schmidt, D. Schneider, J. Gunn, and R. Lucinio with the 5-m Hale reflector (+ 4-shooter + spectrograph) on May 16 indicates that this is a type-Ia supernova 10 to 20 days old. COMET AUSTIN (1989c1) U. C. Joshi, M. R. Deshpande, A. K. Sen, and J. S. Chauhan, Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, report aperture polarimetry obtained on May 2 and 4 using the PRL 1.2-m telescope (+ IHW filter system + PRL polarimeter) at Gurushikhar Mt. Abu. Following are given the degree of polarization and position angles in different filter bands, as measured with an aperture of 100" diameter centered on the nucleus. UC filter: May 2, 5.55 +/- 0.30 percent, 92 deg; May 4, 0.97 +/- 0.81, 13 deg. CN filter: May 2, 6.25 +/- 0.19, 24 deg; May 4, 5.95 +/- 0.40, 18 deg. C3 filter: May 2, 3.46 +/- 0.36, 20 deg; May 4, 2.75 +/- 0.56, 22 deg. CO+ filter: May 2, 7.18 +/- 0.41, 25 deg. BC filter: May 2, 10.45 +/- 0.25, 23 deg; May 4, 7.04 +/- 0.55, 21 deg. C2 filter: May 2, 6.47 +/- 0.11, 21 deg; May 4, 6.41 +/- 0.17, 16 deg. RC filter: May 2, 20.43 +/- 1.5, 26 deg; May 4, 18.17 +/- 1.25, 18 deg. H2O+ filter: May 2, 14.56 +/- 1.19, 27 deg; May 4, 13.77 +/- 1.10, 16 deg. RY SAGITTARII Visual magnitude estimates by A. Pearce, Scarborough, W. Australia (cf.
