M. West, European Southern Observatory, communicates: "CCD observations at heliocentric distance r = 12.5 AU on 1990 Feb. 21- 24 with the Danish 1.5-m telescope at La Silla, totalling 980 min in Johnson V, show brightness variations between V = 23.7 and 25.0; the mean value is 24.4 +/- 0.1, corresponding to V(1,1,0) = 13.55, or 0.35 mag brighter than what is expected from the nucleus alone. The extended coma observed at r = 10.1 AU (West 1990, A.Ap. 228, 531) has disappeared, and no coma is visible at the 29 mag/arcsec2 level. While the dust release has therefore ceased somewhere in the indicated r-interval, the image appears somewhat elongated toward the east and a low level of activity may still persist."
