NOVA IN THE LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD 1991
     A. C. Gilmore reports the following photometry obtained with
the 0.6-m Cassegrain reflector at Mt. John University Observatory on
Apr. 21.39 UT: V = 10.23 +/- 0.01, U-B = -0.8 +/- 0.2, B-V = 0.00
+/- 0.01, V-R = +0.11 +/- 0.01, V-I = +0.18 +/- 0.03.
     W. Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, notes that this nova is now the
brightest one seen in the LMC; its peak absolute magnitude is
expected to equal approximately that of V1500 Cyg. Visual magnitude
estimates (those by Liller are photovisual): Apr. 19.001 UT, 12.5
(Liller); 19.98, 11.8 (Liller); 21.04, 10.4 (Liller); 21.99, 9.8
(Liller); 23.76, 8.8 (T. Cooper, Benoni, R.S.A.); 24.73, 9.2 (Cooper);
24.77, 9.0 (D. Overbeek, Edenvale, R.S.A.).

NOVA CENTAURI 1991
Gilmore reports the following photometry (obtained as above,
though affected by clouds) on Apr. 21.63 UT: V = 10.97 +/- 0.07,
U-B = +0.33 +/- 0.05, B-V = +1.58 +/- 0.02, V-R = +1.30 +/- 0.01,
V-I = +2.42 +/- 0.02.
Photovisual magnitudes by Liller (Tech Pan film, minus UV
filter): Apr. 15.116 UT, 11.2; 17.010, 11.2; 18.030, 11.2; 19.032,
11.1; 20.00, 11.1; 21.10, 11.2; 22.03, 11.3. Visual magnitude
estimates (cf. IAUC 5241): Apr. 17.56 UT, 11.5 (P. F. Williams,
Heathcote, N.S.W.); 24.75, 10.6 (T. Cooper, Benoni, R.S.A.); 24.75, 10.6
(D. Overbeek, Edenvale, R.S.A.).
