SUPERNOVA 1991ar IN IC 49
     M. M. Phillips, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory, reports
that a spectrum of SN 1991ar obtained with the CTIO 4.0-m telescope on
Sept. 14.3 UT indicates that this SN is a type Ib event a few weeks
past maximum.  Narrow H II-region emission observed at the position
of the supernova yields a redshift of 0.0153.

(H. Mikuz, Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, 0.20-m reflector); 12.11, 9.2
(B. H. Granslo, Fjellhamar, Norway, 0.20-m reflector); 14.09, 10.0
(J. Jahn, Bodenteich, Germany, 0.20-m reflector).
