COMET P/1995 S1 (DE VICO)
     Further to the notes on IAUC 6232, the orbit based on 1846
observations (with e adjusted) gives T = 1846 Mar. 6.044 TT (epoch
1846 Mar. 5.0 TT), all elements being within 0.01 unit of the non-
adjusted solution (the latter having mean residual 1".5).

Cloudcroft, NM, 10x50 binoculars).


NOVA CASSIOPEIAE 1995
     R. W. Argyle, Royal Greenwich Observatory, reports an accurate
optical position for N Cas 1995, obtained from 10 observations with
the Carlsberg Automatic Meridian Circle on La Palma by C. Fabricius
and M. Vallejo:  R.A. = 1h05m05s.353 +/- 0s.004, Decl. =
+54o00'40".13 +/- 0".07 (equinox J2000.0, FK5 reference frame, and
epoch 1995.69).  The following V magnitudes (+/- 0.06 mag) were
obtained:  Sept. 5.14 UT, 9.13; 6.14, 9.10; 7.13, 9.08; 8.13, 9.08;
9.13 9.05; 10.13, 9.05; 11.12, 9.07; 12.12, 9.07; 13.12, 9.13.
