Spurny and J. Borovicka, Ondrejov Observatory, write: "In only one hour of clear sky, we photographed two bright meteors that were undoubtedly connected with the enhanced activity of the June Bootids (cf. IAUC 6954, 6966). A slow-moving fireball of maximum absolute (100-km distance) mag -7.9 was photographed by three fish-eye cameras and one long-focus spectral camera at two Czech stations of the European fireball network on June 27.89102 UT. The meteoroid (initial photometric mass 0.14 kg) traveled on a relatively short 18.15-km luminous trajectory in 1.1 s, terminating its light at a height of 72.2 km. Judging from its behavior in the atmosphere, this meteoroid was of the most fragile, typically cometary type IIIB, strongly resembling the October Draconid material. The position of the apparent radiant was R.A. = 227.15 +/- 0.08 deg, Decl. = +48.47 +/- 0.05 deg, and the initial velocity was 17.9 +/- 0.3 km/s. The corresponding geocentric radiant and orbital elements (all for equinox J2000.0) are R.A. = 222.88 +/- 0.16 deg, Decl. = +47.60 +/- 0.06 deg, geocentric velocity 14.1 +/- 0.4 km/s, a = 3.3 +/- 0.3 AU, e = 0.69 +/- 0.03, q = 1.01577 +/- 0.00005 AU, Peri. = 183.65 +/- 0.07 deg, Node = 96.04559 +/- 0.00003 deg, i = 18.4 +/- 0.4 deg. It is evident that this heliocentric orbit corresponds to the orbit of comet 7P/Pons-Winnecke." COMET C/1998 M5 (LINEAR) Ephemeris (cf. IAUC 6961) from orbital elements on MPEC 1998-O04: 1998 TT R.
