SUPERNOVAE
     K. Schahmaneche, University of Paris VII, reports the
discovery of 17 supernovae and five apparent supernovae by the
Supernova Cosmology Project.  SN 2000fr was discovered two weeks
before maximum light and confirmed spectroscopically with the Keck
II telescope (+ LRIS) and the Very Large Telescope UT1 (+ FORS1) on
2000 May 2 and 12.

The following 2001 supernovae were discovered at the Canada-France-
Hawaii Telescope (in coadded images taken during 2001 Apr. 15-20,
after subtracting coadded images from Mar. 29-31) or at with the
Blanco Telescope at Cerro Tololo (in coadded images taken during
Apr. 18-20, after subtracting coadded images from Mar. 28-30):
