Discovered by Seiji Ueda, Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan, (mag.=12.1) on three frames using Canon EOS 6D digital camera + 200-mm F/3.2 lens. On 2024 Feb. 06.3954 UT, mag=13.6 using 0.25-m F/6.4 Schmidt Cassegrain reflector + Nikon D5000 digital camera. Nothing is visible at this location on the frames taken on 2024 Feb. 05.3895 UT (limiting mag.= 13.4). --- Seiichiro Naito and Isao Endoh (NAOJ)

The red dwarf LP 192-46, with a Gaia DR3 parallax of 23.30 +/-0.02 mas, is located near the reported position, suggesting that the transient might be a UV Ceti type flare. ---- Kirill Sokolovsky
