Independently discovered by Robert Fidrich, HAA/VSS, Budakeszi, Hungary, at 17.25CV magnitude on a 16x45s co-added CCD image made on 2023 Jan 7.1085UT using a 0.43m iTelescope.net reflector remotely at Mayhill, New Mexico. The nova candidate was not visible on 16x45s co-added CCD images made 2023. January 6.0954UT with the same instrument - limit around 19-19.5 magnitudes.
