Discovered by Kunihiro Shima, Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan on 29 unfiltered CCD frames using 0.45-m f/12 reflector with 0.3x focal reducer and FLI ML-8300 CCD camera (exposure time was 20 sec or 60sec, each frame) at Fujimi-machi, Nagano, Japan. He checked a DSS image and nothing is visible at this position.

This transient was observed on 2013 12 05.868 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17"-f/6.8 robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. 120-seconds exposures, unfiltered, show the source at mag. 17.5 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 57.28s; 48.1" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).
