This transient was observed on 2013 10 12.868 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17" robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. Unfiltered images show a source at mag. 18.2 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 16.07s 15.6" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.15" on both axes).

This possible supernova in UGC 2789 was detected with 20 x 5 min images using a clear filter Photometry: Mag 18.96 +/- 0.09 C (V for ref) Astrometry: RA 03 36 16.10 Dec +67 34 15.8 These data were collected remotely by Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia.
