This transient was observed by Gianluca Masi and Francesca Nocentini, remotely using the 17" robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. Unfiltered images show the source at mag. 14.0 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 29.35s; 38.2" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes)

This possible supernova in NGC 4414 was detected with 60 x 0.5 min images using a luminance filter Astrometry: RA 12 26 29.35 Dec +31 13 38.3 Photometry: 13.69 +/- 0.25 L (V as ref) These data were collected remotely by Joseph Brimacombe, Coral Towers Observatory,Cairns, Australia.
