Discovered by S. Shurpakov on two unfiltered MASTER-Amur images taken on 2012 Aug. 21.564 and 21.595 UT. Object was not present on the image from the same telescope of 2012 July 23.56 UT (limiting magnitude 19.0). Object detected at coordinates 17 31 52.52 +71 50 08.9 (UCAC3). Magnitude 17.2 U +/- 0.3. Limiting magnitude 18.0. Sum of 25 x 60-sec images. Nothing visible except galaxy background on SDSS image. This possible supernova in PGC 60437 was detected with 3 x 15 min images using a luminance filter Time: 2012.8.26.182 Astrometry: RA 17 31 52.61 Dec 71 50 09.9 Photometry: 17.4 +/- 0.1 L These data were collected remotely by Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia. 2012 08 28.0072

D. Grennan, Raheny Observatory, Dublin, Ireland reports a follow up observation of an apparent supernova currently designated as PSN J17315266+7150120. The observation timed at Aug 08 28.00727 produces an astrometric position for the new object RA=17 31 52.67 DEC = +71 50 10.3 and an unfiltered magnitude of +17.5. The object was clearly detected on a frame taken with a 0.35m Schmidt Cassegrain telescope + CCD.
