Discovered on 2017 May 19.63 UT, by ?. Irie Hyogo-ken, Japan, using 18-cm f/2.8 reflector. There is a star at same location on USNO-A2 (mag.= 13.3) and B1 (mag.= R13.88, B20.27, I11.34). K. Itagaki reports mag.= 11.9 on 2017 May 22.586 UT and mag.= 14.3 on 2009 Apr. 28.689 UT using 21-cm reflector. Note position was measured from Itagaki's frame by himself.

The above mentioned star is identical with GSC2.3 S811091161 (F=17.83, j=19.52, N=11.08) and also an IR source: 2MASS J17345436-1423172 (J=9.237, H=8.325, K=7.642), WISE J173454.36-142317.3 (W1=7.363, W2=6.883, W3=5.797, W4=4.856). Magnitudes from the AAVSO Photometric All Sky Survey (APASS): V=14.256, B=16.050, g'=15.063, r'=13.480, i'=11.200. The All Sky Automated Survey (ASAS-3) recorded brightenings in 2001 July (15 mag) and 2008 May (14 mag). Probably a red variable. --- Patrick Schmeer (Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim, Germany)
