2013 12 02.7300

Giancarlo Cortini (Monte Maggiore Observatory-Predappio-ITALY) reports the discovery of a possible supernova in UGC 10976 by 0.35m. Sch.-Cass.F/5.5 + SXVR-H9 CCD camera on several unfiltered images;90sec. exposure, mag. about+ 17.7,limit mag. about+18.5. The new object is located at: R.A.17 46 27.70,DECL.+30 42 13.2(2000.0) wich is : 4.9arcsec.S and 2.8arcsec.W from the centre of the parent galaxy. My past images of the same field taken on 2013/08/15.90 and 2013/09/25.98 showed nothing at that position (limit mag.+18.5) and it doesn't appear on P.O.S.S. II red and blue plates. No known minor planet is marked in that position for the time of the discovery.

2013 12 04.693

This transient was observed on 2013 12 04.693 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17"-f/6.8 robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. 120-seconds exposures, unfiltered, show the source at mag. 16.3 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 27.70s; 13.1" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).
