AN APPEAL TO REPORT FAST MOVING OBJECTS
Dr. Hannes Alfven and Dr. Tom Gehrels write: "Affimative
response has been obtained regarding the feasibility of space missions
to asteroids in the late 1970's. The interest in nearby asteroids
is, therefore, greatly enhanced [see Science (1970) 167,
139]. We appeal to all observers to report approximate positions,
but without delay (wire or call collect, if possible), to us when a
trail of a fast moving object is found on a photographic plate.
Address: Dr. Tom Gehrels, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University
of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona 85721, U.S.A. Telephone: (602)
884-1222."
