Circular No. 2287 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. Cable Address: SATELLITES, NEWYORK Western Union: RAPID SATELLITE CAMBMASS SUPERNOVA ON NGC 2968-2970 BRIDGE Dr. M. Schurer, Astronomical Institute, Berne, cables that a supernova has been discovered by Paul Wild 120" east and 75" north of the nucleus of NGC 2968, on the luminous bridge from that galaxy to NGC 2970. On Oct. 31.14 UT the photographic magnitude was 15.5. PSR 2020+29 A cable from the Laboratono Nazionale di Radioastronomia, Bologna, reports the discovery of a pulsar at R. A. = 20h20m32s +/- 2s, Decl. = +29o +/- 0o.5 (equinox 1950.0) using the east-west arm of the Bologna northern cross at 408 MHz. The pulse period is 0s.344, and there are components within individual pulses of half-power width less than 5 ms. The pulsar is interesting as it lies only one degree from the pulsar AP 2015+28. COMET SUZUKI-SATO-SEKI (1970m) The following ephemeris is a continuation to that on IAUC 2284 (in spite of the error in Incl.). Recent observations suggest that the comet will be a few minutes of arc east and north of these positions. 1970 ET R. A. (1950) Decl. Delta r Mag.
