SUPERNOVA IN NGC 2207
Dr. N. V. Vidal, Mount Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatories,
writes: "Image-tube spectra (dispersion 200 A/rmn) of the supernova
in NGC 2207 were taken with the 190-cm telescope on Jan. 23.63 UT
in the blue-visual region. They show type I supernova characteristics:
broad emission bands at about 3650, 4115, 4570, 4980 and
5185 A; and broad absorption bands at about 3780, 4350, 4910 and
5065 A. The estimated visual magnitude is about 14.5. This value is
consistent with Green's magnitude estimates (IAUC 2743) and shows
that our spectra were taken probably on the rising branch of the
light curve or very close to maximum."

1972 RA
The orbital elements and ephemeris below, by B. G. Marsden,
are based on 39 observations 1972 Sept. 7 to 1973 Jan. 29. A very
similar prediction has been supplied by C. M. Bardwell, Cincinnati
Observatory.
