The following selected visual magnitude estimates have been reported: Oct. 1.86 UT, 7.5 (G. M. Hurst, Northampton, England); 2.13, 7.9 (T. R. Williams, Houston, Texas); 3.08, 7.8 (W. I. Nissen, Jr., Arlington, Virginia); 3.80, 7.2 (Hurst); 4.17, 7.9 (Nissen); 5.14, 7.9 (Nissen); 5.16, 8.2 (Williams); 7.05, 8.0 (Nissen); and 9.10, 8.1 (P. Maley, Houston, Texas).
