NOVA SAGITTARII 1977
     J. Mattei, American Association of Variable Star Observers,
communicates the following visual magnitude estimate, by R. Annal,
of Kuwano's novalike object (IAUC 3055): Mar. 30.47 UT, ~9.2.

     P. R. Warren, South African Astronomical Observatory, reports
that observations made by R. A. Bywater at Sutherland on Mar. 30-31
give V = 9.40, B-V = +0.20, U-B = +0.55. Broad-band measurements
centered on H-alpha indicate strong emission for this line.

NOVA IN LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD
     M. W. Feast, South African Astronomical Observatory, communicates
the following infrared observations of the second recent LMC
nova (IAUC 3049), made by D. C. B. Whittet and I. G. van Breda at
Sutherland on Mar. 15.75 UT: J = 9.65 +/- 0.10 (s.d.), H = 9.56 +/-
0.10, K = 9.35 +/- 0.20, L = 8.73 +/- 0.30.
