PERIODIC COMET ASHBROOK-JACKSON (1977g)
     Z. M. Pereyra, Cordoba Observatory, writes that this comet has
been recovered by H. Moyano and himself with the 154-cm reflector
at Bosque Alegre. The exposures are of very good quality, and the
comet is diffuse with central condensation. Measurer: B. Oviedo de
Zarate. The position is in good agreement with the predictions by
R. Luss (IAUC 3021) and E. I. Kazimirchak-Polonskaya (IAUC 3045).

T. Seki (Kochi Observatory, Geisei Station).
M. Koishikawa (Sendai Observatory, Ayashi Station). 20-cm f/5.5
reflector. From Japan Astron. Circ. No. 96.
H. L. Giclas (Lowell Observatory). Measurer: M. L. Kantz.
A. C. Gilmore (Carter Observatory). Measurer: P. M. Kilmartin. 41-cm
reflector. 20- and 30-min exposures in good conditions on
   Apr. 25 showed a fine condensation and 40" tail in p.a. 80o.

The following improved parabolic orbit, by B. G. Marsden,
satisfies 21 observations Apr. 16-25 within 3". It now seems unlikely
that the comet can be a short-period one.
