IAUC 3120) is definitely a comet, a 40-min exposure with the 100-cm Schmidt telescope showing a tail some 20" long to the north-northeast. The head is diffuse, a few seconds of arc across, with no apparent central condensation. The following positions are semiaccurate. The Oct. 13 position (IAUC 3120) should be rejected. 1977 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1 Oct. 14.03893 23 29 31.5 -35 49 41 16-17 15.03967 23 28 48.2 -35 33 44 15.26059 23 28 37.6 -35 30 03 COMET KOHLER (1977m) D. Wallentine, Albuquerque, New Mexico, points out that the coma of this comet will occult the star 70 Oph (V = 4.0, spectrum K0) on Oct. 27.71 UT, the event being generally observable from Europe and Asia. Computations by the undersigned indicate that the nucleus will pass 90" (geocentric) from the star (and in p.a. 36o) on Oct. 27d17h04m UT. PERIODIC COMET WOLF-HARRINGTON (1977j) The following precise positions have been measured by J. H. Bulger from exposures by G. Schwartz, C.-Y. Shao and R. E. McCrosky with the Harvard College Observatory's 155-cm reflector: 1977 UT R. A. (1950) Decl.
