COMET SANGUIN (1977p)
     C. U. Cesco, Observatorio Astronomico Felix Aguilar, cables
that J. G. Sanguin has discovered a probable comet with the 51-cm
double astrograph at El Leoncito. The comet has been confirmed by
H.-E. Schuster with the 100-cm Schmidt telescope at the European
Southern Observatory; the object was diffuse with some condensation
and a very faint tail to the northeast (in moonlight).

PERIODIC COMET SCHUSTER (1977o)
     R. M. West provides the following precise positions, measured
from exposures by Schuster and himself with the E.S.O. Schmidt.
The image of the comet was very faint on Oct. 12.09 UT, and the
star trails were very long on Oct. 14.04, 15.26 and 16.08 UT.

image on Sept. 6 (cf. IAUC 3123) indeed seems somewhat diffuse.
