PERIODIC COMET TRITTON (1978d)
Very weak images of this comet have been recorded on exposures
by J. H. Bulger and C.-Y. Shao with the Harvard Observatory's 155-cm
reflector as shown below. Measurer: Shao.

The following orbital elements, by B. G. Marsden, are from
five observations Feb. 11 to Mar. 13. It is possible that the
comet experienced an outburst around the time of the Harvard observation
on Feb. 15, so an extended ephemeris is given in case there
are further outbursts. In any event observations are much needed.

IAUC 3082: Nova in Large Magellanic Cloud. The dates of the
observations should all be changed by exactly -1.0 day.
IAUC 3190: MCG 5-23-16. The dates of the observations should read
1978 Feb. 19-23, not 1977 Feb. 19-23.
