NOVA SERPENTIS 1978
     The following photoelectric observations were made by P.
Bouchet and G. Adam, European Southern Observatory: Mar. 11.380 UT,
V = 9.0, B-V = +0.6, U-B = -0.4; 13.385, 9.5, +0.6, -0.5 (+/- 0.05).

     J. Mattei, AAVSO, provides the following magnitude estimates
by J. Morgan, Prescott, Arizona: Mar. 8.51 UT, ~ 8.6; 9.5, ~ 8.8;
10.51, 9.1; 13.52, 9.1; 14.53, 9.5.

PERIODIC COMET AREND-RIGAUX (1977k)
     The following precise position was obtained by H. Kosai with
the 105-cm Schmidt telescope at Tokyo Astronomical Observatory's
Kiso Station.  Long. = -137o37'42".2, Lat. = +35o47'38".7, h = 1130 m.
There was a tail about 4' long in p.a. 70o.
