Circular No. 3521 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-864-5758 SS 433 R. E. Spencer, Jodrell Bank Observatory, communicates: "Mapping observations with the 100-km-baseline multi-telescope radio-linked interferometer at Jodrell Bank at wavelength 180 mm on Aug. 14 show a triple structure with a pair of radio-emitting regions symmetrically placed about an unresolved (< 0".2) core in p.a. 85o and with a separation of 0".6. Later observations on Sept. 2 show that these outer regions had increased in separation to 0".9 in the same p.a. This implies an apparent velocity of 0.16 c for each of the outer regions if SS 433 is at a distance of 3 kpc. Alternatively, the distance is 4.9 kpc is the regions are moving at the same velocity (0.26 c) as the optically-emitting clouds." Corrigendum. On IAUC 3517, the name of the third collaborator should read J. D. Romney.
