Circular No. 3551 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-864-5758 NOVA CYGNI 1980 G. L. Grasdalen, M. Castelaz and R. D. Gehrz, Wyoming Infrared Observatory, have used the 2.3-m telescope to determine the position of this object as R.A. = 21h40m46s.22 +/- 0".06, Decl. = +31o13'45".1 +/- 1".0 (equinox 1950.0). Infrared photometry on Dec. 6.08 UT gave the following magnitudes: 2.3 um, 4.6; 3.6 um, 3.9; 4.9 um, 3.5; 10 um, 2.7; 20 um, > 1.6. H. Kosai, Tokyo Astronomical Observatory, also provides an accurate position, measured by him from an exposure by Okamura on Dec. 3.48 UT (mpg = 10.0): end figures 46s.13, 45".0.
