Hawkins. He was also able to locate the object on prism plates obtained some days earlier, but the derived positions must be of somewhat lower accuracy. The comet has a noticeable tail, perhaps 5' long. 1984 UT R.A. Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, reports that observations comparable to those for P/Crommelin (cf. IAUC 3921) showed emissions of OH, NH, CN, C3 and C2.
