TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-495-7244/7440/7444 PROBABLE NOVA IN NORMA William Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports his discovery of a probable nova in the course of the PROBLICOM survey, and provides following position (+/- 5"): R.A. = 15h36m48s8, Decl. = -51deg03'23" (equinox 1950.0). On Jan. 26.310 UT, mv = 10.5, and on Jan. 27.318, mv = 10.7. Nothing appears on his survey photographs (limiting mag ~ 12.0) in this position back to 1981. RS OPHIUCHI W. Morrison, Peterborough, ON, reports this recurrent nova to be in outburst for the first time in over 25 years, providing the following visual magnitudes: Jan. 26.47 UT, 6.8; 28.45, 5.2. IR GEMINORUM S. Lubbock, St. Bridges Major, South Wales, communicates that this dwarf nova is undergoing an unusual outburst only some 2 weeks after its previous maximum. His visual magnitude estimates: Jan. 22.803 UT, [13.8; 23.822, 13.8; 24.961, 12.3. PERIODIC COMET TSUCHINSHAN 1 (1984p) Total visual magnitude estimates: 1984 Dec. 29.49 UT, 11.2: (A.
