NGC 4151
    B. M. Peterson, Department of Astronomy, Ohio State University,
writes: "Optical spectra of NGC 4151, obtained Jan. 20 and 21 with
the OSU image-dissector scanner, reveal that the broad-line component
of the permitted lines has re-emerged after nearly vanishing
in 1984 Apr. (Penston and Perez 1984, MNRAS 211, 33P). The optical
continuum has also increased in brightness, and from our spectra we
estimate V = 12.47 through a 7" aperture centered on the nucleus."

RS OPHIUCHI
     D. Laney, South African Astronomical Observatory, communicates
that infrared photometry obtained with the 0.75-m reflector on Feb.
4.15 UT yielded J = 4.06, H = 3.91, K = 3.31, L = 2.66. These
measurements indicate a strong flux in the J band, possibly due to He
I 1083-nm, as well as a dust excess at longer wavelengths.

     S. Padin, R. J. Davis, and M. Bode, Jodrell Bank, report
detection of RS Oph at 4.9 GHz with the new 400-MHz-bandwidth Mk IA/
Mk II interferometer: "A flux density of 18 +/- 2 mJy was measured on
Feb. 13.458 UT within our position limits of +/- 2" in R.A. and +/- 4" in
Decl. Further observations on Feb. 15 indicate an increase in flux
density is occurring."

Further visual magnitude estimates: Jan. 22.25 UT, 10.6 (S.
Lubbock, St. Brides Major, S. Wales); 31.48, 6.5 (R. King, Duluth,
MN); Feb. 1.49, 6.6 (D. Weier, Madison, WI); 2.43, 6.7 (J. Riggs,
Buffalo, NY); 3.54, 7.1 (R. Ducoty, Capitola, CA); 4.76, 7.1 (R. H.
McNaught, Coonabarabran, NSW); 5.75, 7.4 (McNaught); 6.58, 7.6 (L.
Cook, Concord, CA); 8.76, 7.4 (McNaught); 10.77, 7.6 (McNaught);
12.78, 7.7 (McNaught); 14.74, 7.9 (McNaught).
