EXO 2030+375
     A. N. Parmar, L. Stella, P. Ferri and N. E. White, EXOSAT
Observatory, telex: "EXOSAT has discovered a very bright (flux ~ 1
Crab at 2-30 keV), previously uncatalogued, transient x-ray pulsar.
The position is R.A. = 20h30m21s3, Decl. = +37deg27'51" (equinox 1950.0),
with an estimated error radius of 15". The pulse period was measured
to be 41.83 s from an 11-hr observation on May 19. The 2-10-
keV peak-to-peak modulation is ~ 100 percent. The x-ray spectrum
is a power law with an energy index of 0.8 and a low-energy absorption
of 2.5 x 10**26 H atoms m**-2. EXOSAT will continue to monitor
this source to search for orbital variations in the pulse period
and to study the evolution of the outburst. An optical
investigation of the error circle is requested."

SUPERNOVA 1985J
     D. L. King, Royal Greenwich Observatory, reports that no trace
of the supernova reported on IAUC 4059 can be found to mag ~ 15 on
a 20-min exposure with the 0.33-m astrograph on May 16-17.

COMET SHOEMAKER (1984f)
Total visual magnitude estimate by C. S. Morris using the

Stormville, NY, 0.32-m reflector); Mar. 17.26, 11.6 (C. S. Morris,
Lockwood Valley, CA, 0.25-m reflector); 24.43, 11.8 (Morris).
