SUPERNOVA 1988B IN NGC 3191 E. Cappellaro and M. Turatto, Asiago Astrophysical Observatory, report: "Two low signal-to-noise spectra of SN 1988B have been obtained at the Asiago 1.82-m telescope (+ CCD) on Jan. 23 and 24. Both spectra show a prominent, narrow H-alpha emission of an underlying galaxy knot corresponding to a heliocentric recession velocity of 9180 km/s. After subtraction of the galaxy contribution, both spectra show a broad absorption feature at 635.0 nm, corresponding to the typical 615.0-nm rest-wavelength absorption feature of type- Ia supernovae, and no sign of broad H-alpha emission."
