(1950) Decl. m1 Observer Dec. 29.836 16 35.5 + 1 08 9-9.5 Yanaka 30.552 16 32.1 + 0 38 8.6 Levy T. Yanaka (Motegi, Tochigi). 0.15-m binoculars, verified with 0.40-m reflector (140 x). Object diffuse with condensation, coma diameter about 3'. Probably moving to northwest [sic]. D. Levy (Tucson, AZ). 0.4-m reflector. Coma diameter 2', tail 7' long in p.a. 290 deg. Motion suspected but not definite. Observation in moonlight. SUPERNOVA 1988Z IN MCG +03-28-022 C. Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, reports that RCA-CCD photometry obtained on Dec. 16.21 UT by G. Comte with the 2-m telescope at Pic du Midi Observatory gave B = 16.80, R = 16.10, I = 15.84 (Cousins). U GEMINORUM Visual magnitude estimates: Dec. 16.86 UT, 10.0 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, West Germany); 16.90, 9.7 (A. Boattini, Florence, Italy); 18.13, 10.5 (Boattini); 18.96, 11.4 (Boattini). AX PERSEI Visual magnitude estimates: Dec. 6.94 UT, 10.5 (A. Pereira, Linda- a-Velha, Portugal); 16.05, 10.5 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, West Germany); 17.0, 10.5 (J. Bortle, Stormville, NY); 27.0, 12.2 (Bortle).
