Yanaka (Motegi, Tochigi). 25 x 150 binoculars. Object diffuse with condensation, coma diameter about 2'. M. Koishikawa (Sendai Astronomical Observatory, Ayashi Station). C. S. Morris (near Mt. Wilson, CA). 0.26-m reflector. Very diffuse, little condensation. COMET YANAKA (1988r) No precise positions have yet been received, but A. Hale has provided the following approximate data, obtained with a 0.41-m reflector at Las Cruces, NM, adding that the coma, of diameter 1'.5, was quite condensed, and there was a tail at least 3' long in p.a. 295 deg. 1988 UT R.A.
