Makishima, Department of Physics, University of Tokyo, write: "The hard x-ray source H0253+193 in the direction of the nearest molecular cloud Lynds 1457 was observed with the x-ray astronomy satellite Ginga on Jan. 23.0-23.4 UT. The detector field-of-view of 1.0 deg x 2.0 deg FWHM was centered at the IPC position of the source: R.A. = 2h53m20.5, Decl. = +19 14'38" (equinox 1950.0; Halpern and Patterson 1987, Ap.J. 312, L31). An x-ray pulsation with a period of 206.3 +/- 0.1 s was discovered with a significance level of 51 sigma. The average x-ray intensity was 6 x 10E-11 erg/cm2/s (2-20 keV). We also found the x-ray pulsation from the data observed with Ginga previously on 1987 July 28.8-29.3, when the period, the significance level, and the average intensity were 206.1 +/- 0.2 s, 14 sigma, and 4 x 10E-11 erg/cm2/s (2-20 keV), respectively."
