Bhattacharyya, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, telexes: "K. K. Ghosh, N. K. Rao, T. P. Prabhu, Y. D. Mayya, K. Kuppuswamy, and A. Muniandi obtained CCD spectra of the Be x-ray binary HDE 245770 (= A0535+26) with the 1-m reflector of Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur, between Nov. 22 and 25. The spectra displayed emission lines of H-alpha, C II (657.8, 658.2 nm), and He I (667.8 nm). Presence of C II emission lines suggests that either an outburst of the Be star (Baade et al. 1988, A.Ap. 198, 211) or x-ray emission from the compact companion (Ghosh et al. 1989, Ap.J. 344, 437) has taken place. Ultraviolet and x-ray observations would be of interest." 1989 VB Extension to the ephemeris on IAUC 4902: 1989 ET R.A. (1950) Decl.
