Larson and D. Levy, University of Arizona, report that seven co-added Cousins red-band CCD images (5-min exposures), taken with the Catalina 1.5-m telescope centered at Dec. 19.3216 UT, show that 1990 UL3 (cf. IAUC 5138) sports a 28" tail in p.a. 58 deg. Confirming images on Dec. 20 show the tail in seven Cousins R and five Harris V images, although the tail was not visible in weak Harris B images in poor seeing. B. Skiff, Lowell Observatory, confirms that observations (limiting surface brightness near R = 24 arcsecE-2) with 1.1-m reflector + CCD at Anderson Mesa on Dec. 7 also show the tail; in a 3-min exposure, the tail was seen as straight and diffuse, 29" long in p.a. 67 deg.
