TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-864-5758 PROBABLE SUPERNOVA IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY J. Maza, Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, telexes that M. Wischnjewsky has discovered a probable supernova in a faint, anonymous spiral galaxy, near NGC 5253, at R. A. 13h36m.9, Decl. -31o 28' (equinox 1950.0). The object is 1" north and 32" west of the galaxy's nucleus, and on the plate taken on June 22 by L. E. Gonzalez the object was of photographic magnitude 16.5. COMET AUSTIN (1982g) The following precise positions by A. C. Gilmore, Mount John University Observatory, have been communicated by P. M. Kilmartin via G.
